Overview

FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint — Expand Images Beyond the Frame

FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint extends an existing image beyond its frame with per-side pixel controls — the fastest way to reframe one creative into 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 without cropping anything out. On Prizmad it's a flat 2 tokens per run.

Background

What is FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint?

FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint solves a specific, constant problem in ad production: your creative is the wrong shape for the placement. Instead of cropping (and losing the product, the model, or the headline), outpainting generates new image content beyond the original frame — extending the background, scene, and lighting so the result looks like it was shot that way.

Control is per side: separate sliders for top, bottom, left, and right expansion, each from 0 to 2,048 pixels in 64-pixel steps. That means you decide exactly where the canvas grows — add 512 px below a square product shot to make room for text in a 9:16 Story, or widen both sides to turn a portrait photo into a 16:9 banner. The final canvas is capped at 2,560 px per dimension and roughly 4 megapixels total, and output comes as JPEG or PNG.

On Prizmad, FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint uses the same token balance as AI avatars, video, voiceover, captions, and . No separate account or API key — a flat 2 tokens per run from the same balance you use platform-wide, with full commercial rights to every result.

Use cases

What you can create with FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint

One creative, every placement

Reframe a winning ad into 9:16 for Stories and Reels, 1:1 for feed, and 16:9 for display — without re-shooting or cropping out the subject.

Room for headlines and CTAs

Extend the top or bottom of a product shot to create clean background space for text overlays and buttons in your ad builder.

Product photo extension

Supplier photos often come tightly cropped — extend the scene around the product so it fits store banners and lifestyle layouts.

Banner and cover formats

Widen images into the elongated shapes that storefront strips, email headers, and web banners demand.

Rescuing tight crops

A UGC clip frame or photo cut too close to the subject gets breathing room — the model fills in the surroundings convincingly.

Capabilities

Key capabilities

Per-side expansion control

Independent sliders for top, bottom, left, and right — each from 0 to 2,048 px in 64-px steps — so the canvas grows exactly where you need it.

Seamless scene extension

Generated regions continue the original background, lighting, and textures, so the extended image reads as one shot rather than a patched canvas.

Aspect-ratio reframing

Turn one creative into 9:16, 1:1, or 16:9 layouts by expanding the right sides instead of cropping away the subject.

Nothing gets cropped

The original image stays fully intact — outpainting only adds around it, so products, faces, and headlines are never cut off.

Generous canvas limits

Expand up to 2,048 px per side, with a final canvas of up to 2,560 px per dimension and roughly 4 megapixels of total area.

JPEG or PNG output

Download the extended image as JPEG or PNG, ready to drop into ad managers, store pages, or further editing tools.

Workflow

How to use FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint on Prizmad

1

Upload your source image — PNG, JPEG, or WebP. This is the creative you want to extend, and it stays untouched in the result.

2

Decide on the target shape. To make a square image vertical for Stories, expand top and/or bottom; to make a portrait shot widescreen, expand left and right.

3

Set the per-side sliders: Expand Top, Bottom, Left, and Right each go from 0 to 2,048 px in 64-px steps. The default adds 512 px at the bottom.

4

Keep the final canvas within limits: source width plus left/right expansion and source height plus top/bottom expansion must each stay at or under 2,560 px, with total area at or under roughly 4 megapixels.

5

Choose JPEG or PNG output and click Generate.

6

Collect the result from your asset library in about 1–3 minutes — the extension continues the original scene, lighting, and textures beyond the frame.

Pricing

How FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint fits Prizmad pricing

Flat cost per outpaint

Each run costs a flat 2 tokens, regardless of how many sides you expand or how large the extension is within the canvas limits. Tokens come from your token balance.

Available for tokens

FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint is unlocked on the same token balance you use for AI avatars, video, voiceover, and music — no separate FLUX provider account, no API key setup, no extra billing.

Cheap multi-format coverage

Reframing one creative into three placements costs 6 tokens total — far less than generating three separate creatives from scratch. If tokens run out mid-campaign, a one-off top-up covers it without an upgrade.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint free to use?

No — each run consumes a flat 2 tokens from your Prizmad balance. There's no separate FLUX account or API key needed; the tool is available for Prizmad tokens.

Can I use outpainted images commercially?

Yes. Images you extend with FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint on Prizmad are yours to use commercially — in paid ads, on store pages, in emails, and in printed materials. You should hold the rights to the source image you upload.

How much does an outpaint cost?

A flat 2 tokens per run. The cost doesn't change with the expansion size or the number of sides you extend, as long as the result stays within the canvas limits.

What are the size limits?

Each side can be expanded by up to 2,048 px in 64-px steps. The final canvas must stay within 2,560 px per dimension — source width plus left/right expansion, and source height plus top/bottom expansion — and within roughly 4 megapixels of total area.

How is outpainting different from just resizing or cropping?

Resizing distorts the image and cropping throws away content. Outpainting generates new, matching image content beyond the original frame — the background, lighting, and textures continue naturally — so you change the aspect ratio while keeping every pixel of the original.

How is FLUX.2 Pro Outpaint different from generating a new image at the right size?

Generating from scratch gives you a new creative that may not match the original. Outpainting keeps your exact existing image — the approved product shot, the winning ad frame — and only extends around it. Use outpainting when the source creative must stay identical; use a generator like Seedream 5.0 Pro or Ideogram 4.0 when you want a fresh visual.

How long does a run take?

Typically about 1–3 minutes. Runs are asynchronous, so you can queue several reframes and collect the finished images from your asset library.

What input and output formats are supported?

Source images can be PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Output is JPEG or PNG, and finished results are stored in your Prizmad asset library for download and reuse.
